You have to agree that there is something exciting in watching the lotto balls wobble and dance around the lotto machine. Anticipation that we all feel while waiting for winning numbers goes to the next level. So it doesn’t come as a surprise that a lot of players that play the UK National Lottery games want to watch live lotto draws. However, draws are not running on the main TV channels anymore and people (especially the older generations are wondering how and where can they watch and anticipate winning lotto numbers. We’ll answer those questions in the following text. Lottomat – Lotto result live.
The story began on the 19th of November all the way back in 1994. On that Saturday, at 7 PM, the first live draw in the UK took place. The whole show lasted for more than an hour and 49 people competed in it to be the one that will start the draw. The TV channel on which UK lotto and Thunderball numbers were originally drawn was BBC One. It was like that all the way to 2016 when BBC decided that lottery results in live format won’t be broadcasted on the channel anymore.
They decided that the lotto draws live will be moved to the BBC iPlayer, an online mobile platform similar to AppleTV and Netflix. The last draw results that we were able to watch on BBC One occurred on the 31st of December, 2016.
Luckily for us, another TV company took over, and from the 12th of April 2018, Saturday night draws can be watched on ITV. It’s a broadcasting network that’s completely free.
During all those years that lottery draws were broadcasted on the BBC, there were several incidents that we could witness.
The first one happened back in 1996 when the lotto machine didn’t start at the beginning of the draw. In 2006, there was a protest that caused so much disruption that the program has been removed from the air for approximately 7 or 8 minutes. Finally, in 2015, the lotto machine didn’t release all the balls into the drum. That caused a delay in the draw so we didn’t know the winner because numbers were drawn off the air and were published later on the official website.
Not much has changed since the beginning in terms of draw days and time. The majority of draws are still taking place at least twice a week. Most commonly, these days are Saturdays and Wednesdays. The time of the draws varies, but in most cases, it’s either 7.30pm or 8pm.
The biggest change that happened over the years is actually the best one. You can watch the latest draws for all of the games on the official Youtube channel of the Nationa Lottery.
Simply purchase your ticket at the local retailer or online, pick your lucky numbers in hopes of winning the jackpot, go to the Youtube website on any modern device with an internet connection, and wait for the six numbers to see which prize you won.
It doesn’t get much simpler than that. In case you can’t find the channel, simply type the term “National Lottery” into the search bar and the channel will appear right there on the top of your screen!
